A Little About Me....
A Little About Me...
Taking a break....from all my school work and teaching...to show another side of my me and my fashion drawings.....
My drawings over the last few weeks.....
Brandy is my favorite model, she is easy to sketch, all of these figures are from her inspiring poses!
Prismacolor pencils....they break easily but easy to work and blend color!
I worked on this group last spring and once again Brandy was model.
So Brandy modeled in my coat and the coat is about 20 years old...making a comeback...
2 years ago with a different model
This illustration was part of a series I worked on for the wedding line at 2nd Floor Studio Handcrafted Gifts, the business that my husband Sol and I ran for close to 20 years. We has tees and keepsake boxes, albums and other items for the wedding dress illustrations.
I found this old illustration ,it was when I was teaching at Parsons.I was giving a demonstration on markers. I just started learning to draw with markers and I was presently working still with watercolor and bamboo pen and India ink. I had taken over a class that Marcos Oskenhendler who at the time had become the Men's Fashion Editor at the Daily News. He was an incredible fashion illustrator and I had great fun meeting him. He gave me my first marker rendering lesson!
During this period I only used marker. I did this for a magazine cover.
And last....these are the last days of my earlier illustrations.Back then I would only work with a bamboo pen and watercolor if it was a color request. This is much more difficult than marker and colored pencils. I would wear down sometimes 3-4 bamboo pens before I felt comfortable enough to complete the illustration I can't remember who I did this project for and unfortunately I didn't keep good care of the drawings. But at least I still have them.
I love to draw fashion. It is expressive, relaxing, artistic and I can't wait to start another...
